The Trust for Chernobyl Children 2009 (Belarus)
Martin Kelley the MD of Fairwater Ltd and a team of volunteers travelled to Belarus in the summer of 2009 to construct a pond at the Children’s Hospice’s Summer Camp in Zabrodie, some 90km from the capital Minsk.
Belarus was the country most severely affected by the nuclear explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear plant in 1986.
Gordon Low Products Ltd were proud to donate the 15m x 25m, 1.0mm thick, Gordon Low Greenseal EPDM Lake Liner for this project, and congratulate the team on an excellent job.

Grand Award winner 2009 - Water Gems (ALBA) Ltd
This year the Grand Award went to Water Gems (ALBA) Ltd, an Edinburgh based landscape contractor who specialise in water features, and carry out both domestic and commercial work throughout the Scottish region, they won the award for a Private Garden Scheme in Edinburgh.
Water Gems are a Gordon Low Approved Installer.
Nick Benge had this to say about receiving the award:
‘We are delighted and honoured to have received these awards from BALI. We had a wonderful day at the ceremony which we will never forget. The garden was an exceptional project with a unique client who contributed to the design hugely and the result was a beautiful garden. We would like to thank the judges for choosing this scheme and also BALI for organising the awards.”’.
The judging panel were astounded by the level of workmanship on the garden project and the attention to detail, a perfect example of the amazing work Water Gems (ALBA) Ltd undertakes.
