SealEco EPDM Pond Liner

Gordon Low Products Ltd are a SealEco authorised prefabricator, producing pond liner geomembrane sheets from raw material produced by SealEco in Sweden. We fabricate (Hot Bond Seam Weld) pond liner rolls to suit our retail display stands, precut pond liners as prepacks for Aquatic Retail Centres, and single sheet pond liners from 2m x 2m, up to 45m x 40m for landscaping applications delivered direct to site.

SealEco EPDM (Greenseal) and Butyl pond liner are both synthetic rubber membranes with exceptional physical properties making them the ideal choice for lining ponds, lakes, lagoons and streams. Despite their different chemical compositions, they look and feel the same. Continued rise in the cost of Butyl rubber polymer limits its economical application for lining ponds that require large quantities of material. EPDM rubber, developed in 1959 has, over the last 50 years, become more widely used in building and civil engineering. As a result of higher current levels of production, EPDM has become more economical than the Butyl rubber. As a pond liner geomembrane producer we now fabricate far more EPDM liners than Butyl liners due to the competative price and exceptional properties of EPDM that in some instances even out perform the more expensive Butyl option, which is of course still available from Gordon Low.

SealEco EPDM is the fish-safe EPDM pond liner produced by the same Swedish manufacturer that has supplied our Butyl for more than 30 years, SealEco (formally Trelleborg AB). We originally used Trelleborg Greenseal EPDM for our tailor-made water tank liner range of products and extended its use into the pond liner flat sheet manufacturing side of the business.

During production the EPDM is vulcanised (cured under pressure and heat) creating an elastic, chemically stable product with negligible aging through exposure to UV-radiation, atmosphere, chemicals, earth, water and extremes of temperature. SealEco EPDM pond liner is black in colour. The initials EPDM are derived from its major components of Ethylene, Propylene, Diene monomer and is an M class synthetic rubber. Interestingly Butyl Rubber actually has EPDM in its compound to enhance certain properties.

Concerned about the environment?

Are SealEco EPDM pond liners Eco-friendly?

As a manufacturer and supplier of products used in the construction of ponds and lakes, often used for conservation and creation of wildlife habitats, we believe our rubber liners make the natural choice.

SealEco EPDM geomembranes have no negative effect on the environment, they do not release any chemicals that can affect fauna, flora or ecological systems.

EPDM liners reclaimed from old installations can be recycled for use in other EPDM products.

Typical applications for SealEco EPDM pond liners include:

Ornamental ponds for gardens, parks and golf courses, zoos, sports arenas.

Lagoons, irrigation reservoirs, irrigation water tanks, manure ponds, fish farming, anaerobic digestion, silage, irrigation canals, ground water protection.

Biological water purification, reed beds, spill and secondary containment, aeration ponds, ditch lining, dams and embankments

Sectional steel water tank liners, storage of sludge and waste, fire fighting and many other proven applications..
